Since the completion of all the classrooms at Chome Sequoia are now supporting Kiwinda Secondary School.
Kiwinda Secondary School is a mixed day secondary school located in the neighbouring village to Chome Primary. It admits students from eight nearby primary schools, including Chome Primary School. There is a severe shortage of secondary schools in the area, chiefly due to the introduction of free primary education in 2002 which has increased the number of children graduating into secondary education.
The school management and parents have therefore started an expansion programme to accommodate more students in the school.
With our support Kiwinda are planning to expand the school and offer more much needed school places through a dual stream intake. Due to the steep hillside on which the school is positioned a 3 storey block is planned with 3 classrooms on each storey.
